Treatment for crooked, chipped or broken teeth
What are crooked and misaligned teeth?
Crooked and misaligned teeth are top and bottom teeth that have formed in an incorrect position and do not align when meeting.
Common factors that contribute to crooked and misaligned teeth include:
- Genetics
- Overcrowding
- Thumb sucking/Lip biting
- Anterior tongue thrust
- Airway issues
Treatment
At Dental Health Centre, we offer the following treatments to correct crooked and misaligned teeth:
- Braces
- Invisalign
As each patients case is different, our Dentist will carefully assess your teeth to determine the most suitable solution.
We also offer early intervention orthodontics for children between the ages of 6 months to 2 years. During these consultations, we also bring to attention other factors that contribute to crooked and misaligned teeth, such as prolonged thumb sucking. We believe that that this requires urgent attention and must be detected early as it can cause a high palate and inverted upper teeth.
If left untreated
Orthodontic treatment for crooked and misaligned teeth not only improves cosmetic appearance, but also makes it easier for you to clean your teeth better. Straight teeth allows for better access of toothbrush bristles to clean between teeth and prevent gum disease as well as tooth decay. Other serious issues such as TMD (temporomandibular dysfunction) can also develop due to the incorrect positioning of the jaw.
